The Bodygem vs. The Medgem

I often get asked about the differences between the Bodygem and the Medgem RMR Analyzers. The simple answer is that both units are identical and they are both going to give you the same RMR reading. There are only two differences between the products:

1. The Medgem is considered an FDA Approved Medical Registered Device. The Medgem must be purchased if you are seeking insurance reimbursement. The Bodygem is considered a monitoring tool.

2. The Medgem will show you the VO2 (oxygen uptake) numerically.

If you are not planning to seek insurance reimbursement or do not need the reading of the VO2, my recommendation is to purchase the Bodygem .
